Property Line Survey FAQs:
Q: How do I consult a Land Surveyor?
Feel free to contact us at Arrow land Survey, Inc. at 520.881.2155 and we will lead you through the process. We offer no-cost free estimates.
Q: How much will a survey cost, and how long will it take?
Good Questions. Honestly, it depends on the product. Some Land Surveys are more challenging and labor intensive than others, and the costs can vary depending on the challenges and factors presented with your particular type of survey as well as the property being surveyed. These factors include, but are not limited to:
• The size and shape of your property
• How the property was created (Metes and Bounds; Subdivision; Aliquot/Sectionalized legal description)
• The terrain of the property
• The schedule in which the survey is needed
• The ‘chain of title’ of the property
• The location and accessibility of the property
• Quantity of the improvements on site
• Survey accuracy and certification requirements
These are but a few of the factors in making the cost and schedule determination. But don’t be discouraged. Arrow Land Survey, Inc. will be able to give you a fair and honest estimate to complete your project to fit your needs.
Q: Will I need to be present on the site to give access for the survey?
Although you are welcome to be on-site when we do our measurement survey, you will not necessarily need to be present on the site for us to begin our survey work unless there are items of material importance you need to point out regarding your land boundaries. In addition, there are some circumstances when it would be best to take certain precautions prior to having us show up.
PLEASE notify your neighbors that you are having work done on the property. Many times our crews encounter property markers that fall on the other sides of fences and thus need to enter that property to recover them. Having a neighbor aware that this is a possibility can prevent serious accidents or misunderstandings from happening.
If you and your neighbor are having a dispute about the location of the property line, notify the sheriff or whatever enforcement agency jurisdiction you are under and ask for a deputy to be present at the time of the survey to keep all parties in a state of calm.
If you cannot be home, please kennel or leash your dog. Nobody likes a dog bite, and the owner can be held liable if damages occur.
If you have a site fence around your site that is locked, proved access combinations or keys for access or entry. We will be sure to lock it back up upon leaving.
Q: I think i just need a “part of a boundary done” because I just need one corner set or found; I know where the others are.
While this sounds as if only one corner needs to be put in the ground, a full boundary survey will still required to be completed so that we may comply with Arizona Minimum Standards. This way, you’ll have a full record of all of the corners found for your property and they will be recorded in the proper recorder’s office as we are required to do.
Q: I am planning on building our dream home, but haven’t had a boundary survey done. Should I do this before building my home?
Yes. Without question. The home you are building is your home. Know and rightfully claim what is yours before it gets disputed.
